In our infinite wisdom, we in the consumer society have effectively stunted our kids with warped perceptions of reality and in the process, eradicating many of the most effective education principles that had taken thousands of years to evolve - many symbolic mediums are now brushed off as mumbo-jumbo... rites of passage as example, which had consistently prepared emotionally balanced young indigenous people for village life.
For some mysterious reason, the consumer society is now subjected to a plague of social-ills that just don't exist in pure indigenous cultures... and surprise, surprise - when these same cultures become exposed to consumer ways, guess what happens... they too begin showing susceptibility to the same ills... gosh golly gee! (DAWP!)
Enabling children to create their own medium to learn is a clear benefit - finding their own seeds, preparing the soil, planting, nurturing and ultimately harvesting - the full cycle! This process emulates our potential - without the need to explain the concept, their sub-conscious will grasp the medium and implant the valuable lesson.
